In a British court, a man known as DE was approved for sterilization after being identified as having learning disabilities.
DE had one child with his girlfriend who is also learning impaired; however he lives with his parents and has an IQ of 40.
Mentally, DE is believed to have the capacity of a 6 or 9 year old.
In the ruling, Justice Eleanor King found that DE’s mental abilities were mentioned by an “independent psychiatrist”.
King ruled: “I have reached the conclusion that a vasectomy is undoubtedly in DE’s best interests.”
After learning about the child, DE’s parents petitioned the court to have him forcibly sterilized to prevent more children from being conceived.
DE was unable to show he understood the ramifications of his parent’s request.
In England, the Court of Protection (CoP) decides on cases where persons of questionable mental capacity are brought before the legal system.
Intellectually-challenged women were previously brought before the CoP because it was in the best interest of society that those individuals be sterilized.
According to Charles Foster, expert in medical ethics for Oxford University commented: “The court simply concluded…that a vasectomy was in the patient’s best interests because fatherhood was not.”
It was accessed that should DE have another child, it would cause him “psychological harm” and the preventative measure would be sterilization.
In 2011, the CoP ruled that a 21 year old woman known as “P” should be forcibly sterilized after being identified as having “significant learning disabilities”.
P’s mother relayed to the court: “I want the best for my daughter…We are supporting and helping her, bringing up her children and keeping them together as family unit. Obviously we can’t carry on supporting more and more children. She doesn’t see anything wrong in her behavior.”
Eugenics courts such as the CoP have existed for over a century and helped promote the idea that certain people should not be allowed to procreate; such as low-income black men and women and Native Americans .
Those deemed “feeble-minded”, have a low IQ and are otherwise “mentally defective” have suffered at the hands of society and the eugenics courts for the furtherance of the “greater social good”.
Most recently, an African American boy in the US was denied access to an organ transplant list because he was involved in gang violence and under house arrest when he was admitted to the hospital.
The hospital stated that they felt giving this boy an organ transplant was a waste of resources.
Between 1939 and 1973, the North Carolina (NC) eugenic board was responsible for sterilizing more than 7,000 residents for anything from not getting along with classmates to alleged promiscuity.
NC was one of 32 states that participated in the eugenics movement wherein selective breeding reserved for decidedly certain members of society was a prevalent idea and practice in the 1920s in America.
Indeed the Eugenics Board was known to approve sterilization for those brought to them from local welfare officials.
Eugenics is an unscientific theory of the global Elite that gained footing in the early 1900’s. Eugenicists believe that poverty, promiscuity and even alcoholism are family genetic traits that can be curbed by sterilization. To make sure certain types do not procreate, and to keep the gene pool of society pure, if a person exhibited those traits, they would be sterilized.
America’s Elite were proponents of this theory.
Margaret Sanger, co-founder of Planned Parenthood was a eugenicist that believed that contraception could be used to manipulate the poor masses to voluntarily choose not to procreate.
Yet, in the even that those undesirables did become pregnant, Sanger promoted abortion as a cure. She was hailed in the public’s eye as a courageous woman who stood up for women’s rights however Sanger’s goal was to assist the global Elite in depopulating the planet as quickly as possible. Her contribution was the successful Planned Parenthood.
Hanes founded the Human Bettement League (HBL) that was solely devoted to the furtherance of the eugenics cause.
