Occupy Corporatism

President Obama has invoked his self-proclaimed authority through threats of executive orders to resolve the debt ceiling issue with Congress. Obama said that “Social Security benefits and veterans’ checks will be delayed” should congressional leaders flounder and try to demand cuts in government spending in exchange for a resolution.
The President stated that “we are not a deadbeat nation” and “I will not have that conversation with a gun at the head of the American people.”
Obama said that there is “a small group in the House” that is attempting to “hijack the process” by which he can influence the Congress to follow his lead as Communist in Chief.
Stating that Congress was inferring that government spending would be likening to a “ransom in exchange for not crashing the economy”, Obama said at the end of his 1st term as president that “the full faith and credit of the United States of America is not a bargaining chip. And they better decide quickly because time is running short.”
Obama said that Congress “can act responsibly and pay its bills, or act irresponsibly.” He threatened to cut social programs such as payment of wages to our troops, social security being delayed, Medicare and Medicaid being cut. Obama’s scheme is to punish the American public to force Congress to comply with his agendas.
At the press conference, when Obama was asked if he would invoke the 14th Amendment to order the debt ceiling raised without Congressional approval, Obama replied: “If Congress wants to have a debate about, maybe we shouldn’t go out to dinner next time . . . that’s fine. But, you don’t say, in order for me to control my appetites, I’m going to not pay the people who already provided me services, the people who lent me the money. That’s not showing any discipline; all that’s doing is not meeting your obligations. That’s not a credible way to run this government … we’ve got to stop lurching from crisis to crisis to crisis when there’s a clear path ahead of us.”
The 14th Amendment, Section 4, reads: “The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law, including debts incurred for payment of pensions and bounties for services in suppressing insurrection or rebellion, shall not be questioned. But neither the United States nor any State shall assume or pay any debt or obligation incurred in aid of insurrection or rebellion against the United States, or any claim for the loss or emancipation of any slave; but all such debts, obligations and claims shall be held illegal and void.”
In retort, Senator Mitch McConnell said that Obama and his allies should focus on curbing government spending with the debt-limit looming over-head. McConnell pointed out: “I do know that the most important issue confronting the future of our country is our deficit and debt. So we are hoping for a new seriousness on the part of the president with regard to the single biggest issue confronting the country, and we look forward to working with him to do something about this huge, huge problem.”
House Speaker John Boehner reminded the Obama administration that “the House will do its job and pass responsible legislation that controls spending meets our nation’s obligations and keeps the government running, and we will insist that the Democratic majority in Washington do the same.”
House Representatives James Clyburn, John Larson and Xavier Becerra, members of the Progressive Democratic Caucus (PDC) who are some of the socialists seated in Congress, had decided in a closed-meeting that they will seek Obama’s signature on executive orders for the invocation of the 14th Amendment with regard to the debt ceiling.
The PDC seek to bring Socialist reform to Congress with an agenda rooted in the Progressive Movement which is a “fairness plan” for all. By bringing the ideology of socialism to modern times, the PDC seeks to transform our Constitutional Republic into a controlled equal playing field that is ultimately dependent on the government to make sure every citizen complies with the laws.
Clyburn explained: “I would say to the President that if that’s what lands on his desk – a short term lifting of the debt ceiling — he should put it on his desk next to an executive order that he will have drawn up. And with the same pen that he vetoes that short term debt ceiling extension, he should sign an executive order invoking the Fourteenth Amendment.”
Clyburn also said that this measure, whether a debate over legalities, is necessary to “bring claim to the American people” as it would stabilize global financial markets.
Mainstream propaganda intimates that this crisis over the debt ceiling is comparable to “when Abraham Lincoln suspended habeas corpus during the Civil War. He said that it was necessary to violate one law, lest all the laws but one fall into ruin. So too here: the president may need to violate the debt ceiling to prevent a catastrophe — whether a default on the debt or an enormous reduction in federal spending, which would throw the country back into recession.”
Obama is also compared to a previous Socialist president, Franklin D. Roosevelt (FDR), who announced his plans balance the economy in his inaugural address in 1933. FDR said: “It is to be hoped that the normal balance of executive and legislative authority may be wholly equal, wholly adequate to meet the unprecedented task before us. But it may be, that an unprecedented demand and need for undelayed action may call for temporary departure from that normal balance of public procedure.”
By invoking authority from the 14th Amendment, Obama would have to justify this action with a clear and present danger to the US Constitution or national economy which necessitated such an action.
Since his 2008 campaign for presidency, Obama has been injecting socialist ideals into the American meme with statements like this: “When you spread the wealth around it’s good for everybody.”
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said: “I’ve made my view very clear on that subject: I would do it in a second. But I’m not the president of the United States.”
