Iran Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said that the Israeli attack on Syria was a “brutal assault” and would have “significant consequences for Tel Aviv.”
Israeli Air Force planes fired on targets in Syria which were research centers in Damascus. The facility damaged by the Israeli attack was the Syrian Scientific Studies and Research Center (CERS) which is being assumed as a chemical weapons and biological facility run by the Assad government.
CERS was established in 1969 as center for the advancement of scientific studies in Syria. The UN claims without proof that CERS has ties to “the military establishment, where it is allegedly responsible for new research and development of nuclear, biological, chemical, and missile-related technology.”
Mainstream media have located “witnesses” who claims that at CERS were “huge warehouses under the hill that contain all the chemical material and explosives storage which are used” at CERS. This anonymous person also states that CERS “is part of a military industrial compound called al-Fardous . . . with many buildings and warehouses . . . responsible for developing weapons and military techniques” with affiliations with the Syrian Ministry of Defense.
Reports from Syrian state television say that the attack on CERS was carried out at dawn and resulted in the physical damage; as well as the murder of two people, while wounding five others.
Assertions without proof continue as mainstream claims that Hezbollah had “extensive stockpiles of conventional weapons in warehouses at CERS. The Israeli government is continuing to search for these alleged weapons as Mossad reports assert that they are “looking very carefully at convoys heading between Syria and Lebanon” in case they find more reasons to attack Syria.
Other mainstream propaganda is reporting that the bombs destroyed a convoy of trucks carrying SA – 17 anti-aircraft missiles.
Salehi stated: “There is no doubt that this aggressiveness is consistent with the policy of the West and the Zionists to overshadow the accomplishments of the Syrian people and the government in providing the country with stability and security.”
Salehi also condemned the Free Syrian Army (FSA) for having aligned “themselves with the Zionists’ goals.”
Ahmad Vahidi, Iranian Defense Minister asserted that “Syria’s problems are derived from the Zionist regime’s secret intervention.”
US officials confirm that Israel attacked Syria earlier this week, yet are supporting the propaganda story that a convoy of anti-aircraft weapons was destroyed on their way to Hezbollah. Anonymous governmental members close to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu say that he is prepared to “carry out similar missions in the future.”
Prior to this bombing, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said publically that an attack on Syria by the Zionist regime would be an attack on Iran.
Ali Abdul-Kari, Syrian ambassador to Lebanon, said that Damascus has “the option and the surprise to retaliate.” He said he cannot predict when the retaliation will be, saying it is up to relevant authorities to prepare for it. Israel, the Americans and the Arab regimes that have conspired together know that Syria will defend its sovereignty and its land. The Zionist aggression exposes Israel’s part in the war against Syria.”
Syrian Foreign Ministry (SFM) officials bid the UN Observer Force (UNOF) to the site of the Israeli attack on Syria. SFM explained to the UN that this attack violated the 1974 disengagement agreement between the two nations. Since the 1974 agreement, the UNOF have remained to ensure separation and zones where limited forces reside to keep control over the continued battles.
The Russian Foreign Ministry (RFM) has commented on the attack: “If this information is confirmed, then we are dealing with unprovoked attacks on targets on the territory of a sovereign country, which blatantly violates the UN Charter and is unacceptable, no matter the motives to justify it.”
Israel’s attack has become a diplomatic incident. Salehi maintains: “The Zionists got ahead of themselves in trying to cover up the successes of the Syrian government and nation in maintaining the existing government and restoring stability and security.”
Hezbollah has released a statement aligning with “full solidarity with Syria’s command, army and people” and calling the strike a “barbaric aggression” and condemning the Israeli attack on Syria.
Because of the US-Israeli proxy war in Syria, hundreds of thousands of refugees have had to leave their homeland.
