Vice President Joe Biden, head of the Interagency Task Force on Gun Control (TFGC) for the Obama administration has scheduled meetings with officials to review the video gaming industry, talk with mental health experts and President Obama on how the US government will define the factors that contribute to gun-related violence in America.
Biden also plans to build a consensus between pro-gun groups and pro-gun restriction organizations to learn how to better accommodate and propagandize to the masses.
New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, having become a spokesperson for governmental legislative restrictions on gun ownership has a direct influence on Biden’s future proposals to Obama by sending his staff members to Capitol Hill to advise the TFGC on exploratory measures to ensure that the 2nd Amendment is finally stripped of our US Constitution by making current legislation so encompassing as to render it ineffectual.
Bloomberg sees his intrusions doing “everything we can to help Joe Biden.”
Taking the drafting process into his own hands, Bloomberg has drafted a policy document that outlines:
• Federal control of gun trafficking
• Gun sale regulations
• Stricter prosecutions of gun owners who break the law
• All-encompassing background checks
• Restrictions on gun sales at shows and online
• Restricting “military-style” frearms
• Restricting high capacity magazine clips
• Felony prosecutions for those who fail background checks due to lying
To the President, Bloomberg would like to see federal agencies share information on American citizens through a national gun background check database.
Biden is taking Bloomberg’s “suggestions” to heart and spouting about the same talking points as part of the TFGC proposals to Obama.
The TFGC is not expecting to have to cower to Congressional approval with the safe knowledge that Obama will simply sign an executive order to mandate gun-control restrictions regardless of the opinions of Congress.
Obama’s stance on gun-control is to restrict certain types of firearms as well as high capacity magazine clips while creating a national database to monitor gun owners.
Nancy Skinner, California Assembly member is now proposing that the State restricts ammunition sales because she claims: “It is easier to buy bullets than cough medicine or alcohol. It should not be that easy. We need to have much more scrutiny when it comes to the purchase of guns.”
Skinner is backing Assembly Bill 48 that requires purchasers of bullets to provide identification, dealers be licensed and report all sales to the US Department of Justice (DoJ). The “bullet bill” will restrict converter kits and high capacity ammunition magazines.
The shooting at Sandy Hook has brought former House Representative Gabrielle Giffords out from obscurity to speak to the public concerning gun control. Giffords and her husband Mark Kelly spoke with Dianne Sawyer to introduce their initiative “Awareness for Responsible Solutions” (ARS).
According to the ARS website: “Americans for Responsible Solutions will encourage elected officials to stand up for solutions to prevent gun violence and protect responsible gun ownership by communicating directly with the constituents that elect them. Join us today, and tell your elected leaders that Americans are demanding responsible solutions to reduce gun violence.”
ARS is pushing for a required and “comprehensive background check for the private sale of firearms.”
While the US government figures out how to control the 1 out of 3 households that are registered gun owners, Bank of America (BoA) has frozen funds in a private account for American Spirit Arms (ASA), a gun manufacturer.
Joe Sirochman, owner of ASA, stated on his Facebook page: “. . . our Web site orders have jumped 500 percent causing our Web site e-commerce processing larger deposits to Bank of America. So they decided to hold the deposits for further review. After countless hours on the phone with Bank of America, I finally got a manager in the right department that told me the reason that the deposits were on hold for further review — her exact words were — ‘We believe you should not be selling guns and parts on the Internet.’”
Sirochman has held his account at BoA for a decade without provocation prior to this incident. BoA also targeted the McMillan Group after the corporation began manufacturing firearms.
Eight gun-control bills have graced Congress since last week. Nancy Pelosi, House Minority Leader and House Representative Mike Thompson has created with own task force to introduce gun restriction legislation.
House Representative Diana DeGette stated that: “The balance has tipped. People now realize we need to do something.”
Michael Lenett, lawyer for the Senate Judiciary Committee said that “the most effective lobbying tool that we had at the time was momentum, as a result of a series of gun violence tragedies in the country.” Lenett recognizes that this propaganda helps push bills through the Senate.
Senator Heidi Heitkamp knows that the Obama administration is moving toward a gun-control bill “that is not going to pass.” Heitkamp also says that mental health has nothing to do with gun-control. She said: “To me, one of the issues that I think comes — screams out of this — is the issue of mental health and the care for the mentally ill in our country, especially the dangerously mentally ill. And so we need to have a broad discussion before we start talking about gun control.”Add This to Technorati Faves
